Both the theater figures Lum and Purl Schweitzke ask the question: why they’re there where they are. They question their existence. They decide to have a child together. One that could give them a task and a purpose. But soon they discover that in the play they won’t get a child. The Leader of Progression, LDF, takes over and represents the History and Media. He has the ability to send messages with his instrument into space. The researchers Rafinesque, the single man Klaus Alberts, his daughter Hilda, the resurrected Kleist – they all appear and tell the story of their pain and their failure. They are all asked to send one final word into space.
Wolfram Lotz deconstructs the classic dramatic structure and builds it anew. The search for the meaning of life and the desire to overcome the reality of death, are to play with the structures of the theater and its elements .
